How we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the Aaban app and devices.

Last updated: Jul 11, 2026 Minimal data by design

Summary

Reliable control with minimal data.

Some information is required to provide core features like device ownership, cloud sync, alerts, and troubleshooting. We do not sell personal data.

In short: We use your data to run the app, keep devices connected, and improve reliability.

Data we collect

  • Phone number, user ID, and authentication or session information when you use an account
  • App/device identifiers, push notification token, app version, OS version, and device type
  • Connected-device identifiers, ownership and sharing records, firmware versions, connectivity, events, and telemetry
  • Schedules, automations, device names and settings, notification preferences, and configured delivery channels
  • Issue description, recent app logs, packet history, and device configuration/state when you choose to send a support report

How we use your data

  • Connect devices, execute commands, and sync settings
  • Maintain security and prevent abuse
  • Send notifications you request
  • Diagnose issues and improve performance

Sharing and disclosure

  • Hosting and infrastructure providers that run the Aaban service
  • Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, Apple Push Notification service, and related platform services for alerts
  • Legal authorities when required by law

We do not sell personal information, use it for third-party advertising, or track you across other companies' apps and websites.

Data retention

  • Account data while your account is active
  • Telemetry retained only as needed for functionality
  • Support reports and logs retained only as needed to investigate and resolve the issue, then deleted or aggregated
  • After an account-deletion request, the account is scheduled for permanent deletion after 30 days

Local network and on-device data

The app uses local-network discovery to find and control Aaban devices on the same network. Local addresses, discovery results, cached device data, and local device credentials are used for this functionality. Local credentials are stored using the operating system's secure storage where supported.

Cloud sync, remote control, alerts, and support reports transmit the related information to our services.

Security

We use access controls, secure storage, and encrypted transport for cloud-service traffic. Direct communication with your Aaban hardware occurs on your local network using protocols supported by that device.

Your rights and choices

  • Access and correct your data
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Export your data where applicable
  • Change notification permission in the app or operating-system settings

See privacy choices for detailed steps.
